Pawli (Birthplace of Sriman Mahasadhu Srimoraya Gosavi Maharaj)
There is a village called Śālī in Bidar district, in Karnataka. A couple named Vāmanabhaṭa Śālīgrāma and his wife Pārvatī Bai were living peacefully there. They were depressed for being childless and therefore to get rid of this misery Vāmanabhaṭa went on a pilgrimage along with his wife. In the year 1324 AD he reached Morgaon and settled at Pawli. Śrī Vāmanabhaṭa decided to perform austere penance to please Mayureśvara and begot a child as his grace. His penance lasted for 48 years. On Magh Krishna Chaturthi (Fourth day of the dark half of the Magha Month) in the year 1375 AD Śrīman Mahasadhu Śrī Moraya Gosavi Maharaj was born at Pawli. At this place His Holiness Nayanabhāratī Gosavi Maharaj blessed Śrī Morya Gosavi Maharaj.
As a witness to the birth of Śrī Morya Gosavi Maharaj and his divine lineage, an idol of Chiṁtāmaṇī form of Śrī Gaṇeśa is installed at this place. The magnificent statue of Śrī Moraya Gosavi Maharaj, was installed by the Deosthan recently.
